Integration examples¶
Veronte Autopilot 1x¶
XDL24 will be used as ground control station for the control of the Autopilot 1x.
Warning
Packet loss is not calculated when using this ground station, which means that a failsafe automation based on Packet Error Rate (PER) will not work as intended in this setup.
Below are the steps for establishing the connection between the XDL24 and Autopilot 1x using an internal Digi radio.
XDL24
Configuration in Digi radio software
Download and install XCTU (Digi radio software).
Build a configuration in XCTU:
The integrated radio is the model DIGI-XBEE3 XB3-24Z8UM. For more information about how to configure it, read the XCTU User Guide.
The following table shows which parameters can be configured. The rest of parameters should remain as default.
DIGI Parameter
Description
PL
Transmit power (100 mW)
ID
Network addres PAN ID
DD
Device type identifier
BD
UART baud rate (115200)
RR
Retries (minimum 5)
CH
2.4 GHz channel to send
MM
Mac mode, 802.15.4 with Digi header for discovery and packages duplicate
CA
Clear channel threshold as dBm
EA
Ack failures
EC
Failure to sent due to excess of energy in channel
Important
To pair the XDL24 with the 1x internal radio, the PAN ID of both devices must match. The user must set one or both of them to match.
Autopilot 1x
Follow the following steps in 1x PDI Builder app:
Go to Input/Output menu \(\rightarrow\) I/O Setup panel.
Configure the following connections between producers and consumers:
Veronte LOS \(\leftrightarrow\) Commgr port 1.
Commgr port 1 \(\leftrightarrow\) Veronte LOS.
Note
It is not necessary to use these particular COM Manager ports, however, the connections between these producer and consumer must be bidirectional.
For more information, visit the Input/Output - Configuration section of the 1x PDI Builder user manual.
Note
Users can find information on how to configure the Autopilot 1x Digi internal radio to be paired with the XDL24 in the Digi internal radio - Datalinks section of the 1x PDI Builder user manual.
Important
To pair the XDL24 with the 1x internal radio, the PAN ID of both devices must match. The user must set one or both of them to match.
Finally, to check that the connection has been made correctly, check in Veronte Link, with Autopilot 1x disconnected from the computer, that the Autopilot 1x appears connected to the COM PORT corresponding to the XDL24.
